A new lounge concept for British Airways in South Africa

We recognise that our airport lounges form a critical part of the British Airways experience and that recent customer feedback has highlighted the need to upgrade our existing British Airways Terraces Lounges.

We have created a dedicated lounge concept for British Airways domestic customers in South Africa. This new concept will be revealed over the next 12 months as we launch the new lounges within the new Cape Town and Durban International Airport terminals as well as a bigger lounge at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

There will be no disruptions to customers at Cape Town and Durban International Airports but a temporary lounge will be in place at OR Tambo International Airport while the current lounge is closed for the renovations at the end of August for a period of three months. During September, a temporary lounge will operate in the area outside the existing British Airways Terraces Lounge. Our Gold and Silver Executive Club members as well as our Club (business class) customers will also be able to use the adjacent Premier Lounge when there is sufficient capacity.

In October and November we will take over the existing Premier Lounge as a temporary lounge for the remainder of the renovation period.

As always, our British Airways staff will be on hand during this period to help you resolve any travel queries or issues you have.

Thank you for your support and understanding. We look forward to providing you with an upgraded experience when we welcome you to our new lounge in December.
