Gabon Closes Borders

GABON's defence ministry has announced the closure of air, land and sea borders following the death of president Omar Bongo Ondimba. In a statement read on public television, the ministry, headed by Bongo's son said that "all components of the defence forces were put in place across the territory." The ministry did not say for how long the borders will be closed.
